Giles

I wanted to do this in person yesterday but you were busy. I want to thank you for all your hard work putting on the grizzly triathlon. I’m read in the Missoulian where you were considering stepping aside as the race coordinator.

Yesterday was my seventh Griz Tri. I am a 60 year old CPA from Great Falls who signs up every year in January so I know I have a reason to get my butt out of chair everyday from doing taxes because if I don’t I may die out on that Tri course. Thanks for giving me a purpose not to die at my desk.

And every year during the Tri particularly when I start my run I ask myself why Am I doing this. But every time I finish that question is answered by the sense of accomplishment I feel. This year I battled knee problems that had me considered not doing the Tri but the slow time and knee pain during the run was worth it.

Thanks again for alll your hard work to put on such a great event.

Hi Giles,

Just wanted to send a quick note of THANKS for this wonderful triathlon. It was my first, and a bucket list sort of thing at age 58. I was delighted by the camaraderie at the swim, the bracing headwinds on the bike, and the lovely guitar player at the top of the hill on the run. It was truly a memorable day which I shared with three friends that I cajoled into doing the triathlon as well.

The amount of detail it takes to run an event like this is mind-boggling, so as we all rest our weary muscles, I hope you get a mental rest and can know you did a super job.

My Best,

This was my first triathlon! I’m 54 years old and not really an athlete by any means. I trained for 6 months and when I crossed the finish line I came in dead last over all. It was a wonderful experience. The spirit of competition was amazing and the camaraderie among the triathletes was inspiring. I was impressed with the organization and flow of the whole event. Kudos to you.

I wanted to thank you for all of your work to organize and run this event.  It was the first time my co-workers, son & I have ever attempted a triathlon.  It was an amazing experience, from registering to receiving the results today.  Thank you for doing this and for all the time you put in to making it successful.

Thanks – you guys are awesome! I will never forget how you got me into the sport all back at the Griz Tri where I was volunteer coordinator :).
